I just want to say what a fantastic weekend I had. I was really nervous before I went up on Friday because I was doing the challenge on my own. I immediately made a couple of friends who helped me throughout the walk, I don't think I would have managed without the encouragement of my new friends and the guides. The whole event was very well organised and I can only say thank you to you and the other voluneers too.
Im so pleased to have participated in this challenge, although today my legs are paying the price. To think that I only committed myself to doing it 10 weeks ago and now ive done it, it makes me feel so proud to have achieved this and to be able to help Kidney research at the same time. I think I spend most of the weekend in tears as it was truly emotional as on a personal level, I lost my dad 3 years ago due to kidney failure. And meeting some of the transplantees and dialysis patients brought it all back to me. They were just an inspiration to me.
I also want to say, that having you on our dinner table on Saturday was a pleasure (I was sat two seats away from you) and hearing about all the tireless work you put in to organising the event made me appreciate the time I spent up ben nevis. Because I think without you and the kidney research staff the event would not have been possible.
I will continue to support Kidney research and no doubt am looking for another challenge to do. So don't forget to let me know if anything else is in the pipeline.
