The Edinburgh Marathon is an unique Event, only in its fifth year its get bigger each year.We were represented from many parts of the Uk, from places such as Sleaford in Linconshire, and as far north as Elgin. We had runners from Northern Ireland as well.
As well as individual runners we had teams entered in the Hairy Haggis Team Relay a daunting task in itself. all runners had to cope with different weather conditions, from rain in the early part of the race to a welcoming sunshine as they crossed the finishing line. But the hardest part was running the first 13 mile into a strong wind.
Our first runner came in a very good time of 3hours and 4 minutes, and considering that the winner of the marathon came in at a time of 2 hours and 22 minutes it was a fantastic acheivment.
Just about major charitable organisation was there and next year we have been told that we will be "Charity of the year" so we will be encamped in our own tent, and hopefully will have a larger contingent of runners and of course their family and friends. So to those who ran for us tis year "Absolutly tremendous acheivment and please come again next year and we look forward to meeting you all again.
